“Hmph.. must be nice.” Mirah said aloud as she walked passed the bat hanging from her ceiling fan. It was around 8 in the morning and she was glad she’d remembered she had guests. She nearly walked out of her bedroom half naked, but she grabbed a house coat just in time. Actually, she felt rather good that day. Had a good sleep, no nightmares, and the fact that she had company.. It was all very nice. Not being alone for a change. Then again, it wasn’t as if she was alone all the time or something. Donovan came to see her quite often...
“Hm.. what a weirdo..” she muttered to herself on the thought of Donovan. Gabe was awake now, and human again and Mirah was digging in the fridge, in vain, for something to make for breakfast. “Sorry, I’m not a great cook or anything..” She laughed. “Pop tart?” She grinned at Gabe, holding a box of blueberry pop tarts, towards him.
__________
"Just talking. I'm still trying to look after Mirah and I don't trust demons. I was just seeing what he was doing. Didn't seem like anything involving her, but you never know."
“Ah.. ok.” Demi nodded.
"But enough about that. How's your little three-some been doing? You guys staying out of trouble?"
He laughed. “Yeah, we’ve been great. Kind of new in town, so I was surprised when I found you here. Seems like we always end up running into each other...but that’s a good thing of course.” Demi grinned. “Besides, things are always more.. exciting when you’re around.”
"I was just heading back to Mirah's place. I think I spooked her because I tried to tell her... well.. you know....... I-I love her, but she might not be able to feel it in me because of what I am. An angel from one god wouldn't be able to feel another god-alien-thing like they could a human or just another regular vampire."
“Uh.. yeah.. Can’t say I know what you mean.. but yeah.” He shifted his eyes away from Donovan, not really knowing what to say about his problem with Mirah.
"I hate it sometimes." Donovan looked at Demi. "You can help me, right? Help me to let her know how I feel."
“Huh? Me?” Demi looked very confused. “Well, I mean.. I guess.. but I don’t really know her or anything.. We met one time a long time ago. I can give it a shot though.” Almost like an involuntary action, his hand went up and he ran his fingers through his long bangs as if trying to make them stay behind his ears. They fell back into his face of course. He always did this when he felt out of place or nervous or something... “Why don’t we go see her tomorrow, though? It’s really late and she’d probably be sleeping...right?” He wasn’t sure what time a person like Mirah would want to sleep. Or if she did sleep for that matter. He only assumed that she would sleep at night, like most normal things did. “You can even crash with us if you want.” He made the offer available, as he knew Donovan often didn’t have anywhere to stay.
In the end it was decided that they would go see Mirah in the morning. In the later morning, since it was already morning.
OOC: Hope that was ok. Kinda used other peoples charas a bit, but I’m sure it won’t be a problem. I think my OOC’s sound about the same every time I post. o__0; Oh well.. I figure Rob can just make it the next morning and him and Demi can go to Mirah’s place alone. That way Hchan will be off the hook since she really won’t be able to RP with her computer being broke and all. T.T Well, goodnight.

“You don’t have to stay in a hotel; I know Mirah wouldn’t have offered to let you stay here if she didn’t really mean it.” Ariella yawned and stretched. “I think I’m still in cat-mode.” She laughed. “It’s good to be back here, even if everything is so different. And…thank you for telling me about Ariel.” She left for bed.
"No problem.. good night." Gabe waved to her and then just looked at Mirah. "Thanks for letting me stay here. I sure hope Donovan comes along soon though, I have a bad feeling about this mission and being away from home."
Gabe turned into a bat and hung upside-down from her fan. "Good night Mirah. Don't worry either, if anyone comes in here, I'll hear anything they do and wake up."

When Nova got to The Mystic’s door, she knocked loudly and tried to stay calm. Something wasn’t right, but she didn’t know what. She put a hand on her stomach and waited nervously for The Mystic to answer.
“Please, let me in.” She said loudly, her lips close to the door. “Please…”
The door opened for her and allowed her to walk in. In the back, The Mystic was looking over a body. Upon closer inspection, you could clearly see who it was: Ariel.
It was a shocking sight, but The Mystic spoke up. "I'm sorry you had to see this. I almost didn't want you to, but you had to know how serious this might get and the level of danger Gabe is in." The Mystic looked into her eyes. "Gabe is in a lot of danger and I'll do everything I can so he'll be safe." The Mystic grabbed a sword and turned away from her. "We're at war. Raziel decided to change fate to his vision of it. He'll kill Gabe, as he has Ariel, to get to Donovan."

Now that everyone was done saying hello, Demi decided to ask what was own his mind. “So Donovan.. What were you doing with that demon?”
"Just talking. I'm still trying to look after Mirah and I don't trust demons. I was just seeing what he was doing. Didn't seem like anything involving her, but you never know." Donovan smiled. "But enough about that. How's your little three-some been doing? You guys staying out of trouble?" He laughed at Demi. "I was just heading back to Mirah's place. I think I spooked her because I tried to tell her... well.. you know." He looked down. "I-I love her, but she might not be able to feel it in me because of what I am. An angel from one god wouldn't be able to feel another god-alien-thing like they could a human or just another regular vampire." Donovan felt like punching a wall, his eyes tightened and his fist did too. "I hate it sometimes." Donovan looked at Demi. "You can help me, right? Help me to let her know how I feel."

“You’re her!? Wow.. that’s cool. I don’t know about her family, but Ariel is still alive. I saw her before I left for this mission.” Gabe laughed. “You know, that means you started the trend.”
“What trend is that?” Ariella raised an eyebrow.
“We all decided to take on angel names after that and to give them to students.” Gabe was getting tired now. “Man... it’s so late now. I hope Donovan comes over soon or I’ll have to find a hotel to sleep at.”
As Ariella lay in the bed she thought about what Gabe had told her. It felt good to think that she had started something positive for once. It was strange to feel the hot sting of tears in her eyes, the wet warmth as they slid down her face. But it was such an immense relief as well. The whole time she’d been in the Outside, she hadn’t been able to cry, even when she wanted to tear herself apart from grief or anger. There were so many levels to the punishments they’d placed on her; she didn’t even want to think about failing and having to go back, with no hope of ever being forgiven.
She cried silently for a long time, letting all of the built up emotion flow out, and eventually she fell asleep…
“Shame on you, wasting tears like that.” A voice whispered in her ear. Ariella’s eyes flew open, and when she sat up, there was Cheriour, a mocking smile on his handsome face. “You know what the people here think the tears of an angel can do?”
“What do you want?” Ariella pulled the blanket up to cover her chest. She’d taken off her clothes before getting into bed.
“How very like Eve of you. Didn’t do her much good, though, did it?” Cheriour smirked. “It must have felt good, to be able to cry like that after so long.”
“Cheriour, what do you want?” She demanded.
“How many centuries has it been since you cried?” He sat next to her on the bed, still smiling.
“Millennia, if you want to get precise about it. I haven’t done anything wrong. I’ve done very well so far.” She said defensively. “Well, I mean, it was stupid to get hit by that car, but it all worked out. It got her to notice me and take me in.” Cheriour leaned towards her, until their faces were only a few inches apart.
“I bet it isn’t the only thing you can do again now.” He seemed not to have heard anything she said, and touched her cheek lightly.
“What do you mean?” She asked, a little breathlessly, because she knew what he meant as his fingers trailed down her neck.
“You will be tested, Ariella.” He caressed her collarbone, traced the line of her shoulder. “Accomplishing your task isn’t enough. You have to prove yourself before you return.”
“Don’t…” She wanted to pull away but couldn’t seem to manage to get her muscles to respond.
“You know, it’s funny. I feel absolutely nothing when I do this to you.” He rested his hand over her heart. “Yet you seem to be rather—flustered—shall we say? My, but that heart of yours is pounding hard. It must be distracting.” His eyes shone a brilliant, deep sky-blue in the darkness. “I never noticed that before,” he said, brushing her hair out of her eyes. “You’ve got a tiny wedge of blue in your right eye.”
“You’re cheating.” She said in an attempt to bring him back to what she considered the real subject. “I can’t move to get up.” Ariella bit her lip, trying to remember all the hate she had for him. He laughed softly.
“Yes, but that might be one of the things he can do. So, if you can’t move, what can you do? Besides give up, that is.” His hand moved down, and in with a rising sense of panic, Ariella gathered all of her energy and shifted into cat-form, and then bit his hand hard. “Well, that’s a start, anyway.” He sounded even more amused, so Ariella bit down harder, and gripped him with her claws, digging them in.
Cheriour gasped suddenly and sat up very straight and still. Ariella bit down as hard as she could for a moment, and then let go. She sat back on her haunches and stared up at him with wide eyes, her pupils taking up so much room in her irises that only a small rim of gold remained, along with a tiny fleck of dark blue.
“Alright,” Cheriour said, and Ariella got the impression that he wasn’t speaking to her. She couldn’t help purring when he unconsciously held his hand against his chest with a pained look on his face. She could see indentations from her teeth in it, and scratches from her claws on his forearm. “Is it really necessary to gloat about it?” He snapped. Ariella purred louder, and looked about as happy as any cat can in the dark.

“Tell me, why do I have this feeling that you were helping her, Cheriour?” Her tone was annoyingly amused.
“Oh, I don’t know. Tell me, why do I have this feeling in my hand, Derdekea?” Cheriour glared at her, but Derdekea only smiled.
“It will pass as soon as she gets over what you did to help her.” She said calmly.
“I wasn’t helping her.” Cheriour insisted, flexing his hand.
“Then you were harassing her?” Derdekea raised an eyebrow. “Not very angelic of you,”
“No,” from somewhere he produced a bandage and wrapped it around his hand. The pain eased to a dull throb. “That’s not it either.”
“Tsk, cheating again. It’s just shameful.” She folded her arms across her chest with a disapproving look, but made no move to stop him.
“Not so much shameful as shameless.” He replied.
“At least you still have your sense of humor. But really, why did you help her, when you act as though you dislike her so greatly?” Her tone was now more sarcastic than he’d ever heard it before.
“I was trying to prove a point, Derdekea. I wanted her to see how much she might have to deal with. She seems to think that she can keep running out in front of cars and make it through all right, so to speak.” He tied the bandage off and tucked the loose ends into a fold of the wrapping on his wrist. “We can’t afford for her to have that kind of attitude. This is too important.”
“It looked to me like you were ‘copping a feel’ as they say on Earth.” Derdekea now seemed to be saying things just to try and provoke him, which, of course, provoked him. He spun on his heel and faced her.
“If I could make you feel it, I’d slap you for that.” He hissed, looking her in the eyes.
“Do not lie to me, Cheriour, and stop lying to yourself. It is of no use to either of us.” She advised, and then she was gone. Cheriour was aware that he was clenching his fists, and that it made his left hand hurt, so he forced himself to relax.
“Angels can’t lie.” He said almost defensively to the empty space where Derdekea had been.
‘No, but they don’t always tell the whole truth.’ A soft brush against his mind. ‘You said you felt nothing when you touched her.’
“I didn't feel anything when I touched her. Not until you decided to join the party.”
‘No, you felt nothing with your hand until I stepped in. But what about your heart?’ The brush against his mind grew in pressure, and he wavered for a moment.
“Now look who's cheating.” He smiled, and knew that she was smiling with him.

Gabe looked over, "You're her!? Wow.. that's cool. I don't know about her family, but Ariel is still alive. I saw her before I left for this mission." Gabe laughed. They were close, but not that close. Donovan seemed spooked all of a sudden.
Demi turned slightly to whisper to Vix and Arlie. “Guess he not–“
Crash! It happened so fast, he didn’t even have time to smell him coming.
"Ack!" Donovan fell back onto the floor.
“Ow, fuck..!” Demi nearly toppled over, but Arliss had grabbed him before he hit the ground. “Thanks..” He rubbed his side where Donovan had slammed into him.
"Watch where you're standing, I'm jumping here!" He laughed and waved to the girls.
“Heheheheh,” Demi mocked his laugh. “Yeah, real smooth, D.” He tried to stifle a grin, but failed. Obviously, he couldn’t stay mad for very long, especially at a friend whom he hadn’t seen in a long time. He wondered why Donovan could remember Arliss, but not Vix. Then again, they only met each other a few times and they weren’t on very good terms then, were they? He stopped thinking about those bad memories and decided to let Donovan figure out who she was on his own, or let Vix tell him. Either way, he didn’t want to get into it.
Now that everyone was done saying hello, Demi decided to ask what was own his mind. “So Donovan.. What were you doing with that demon?”
OOC: I used Arlie a little bit, but it seemed appropriate and I was pretty sure Hchan would be ok with it. n.n;

Zadkiel had to run to catch up to Raziel, who was stepping into his place. "Sir, what now? We have some followers.. but not everyone will join us. We're outnumbered and what little numbers we do have... they arn't that skilled." Zad grabbed his arm.
"Worry not, I know what I'm doing. First, we must get to Donovan or Gabe. To eliminate either of them will help our cause greatly." Raziel was packing some things from his room into a lockbox.
Zad let go, "Kill Donovan or Gabe? Either one is more then a match and they're together right now. They'll destroy us without an effort." Zad looked away. "I don't want to seem like a drifter, but prehaps you-"
Raziel turned to him quickly. "I what!? You think I do not know what I'm doing? Yes, either of them is a match, I know. We shall find a weakness and exploit it, EVERYONE has a weakness." He went back to packing.
Zad smiled, "Whatever you say sir. I trust your plan."
Raziel shut his case and turned to Zad. "Next stop America." A vortex opened infront of him and they walked through it.

“So.. why don’t you tell me what’s going on with this whole protection bit?” Ariella plopped herself down on the couch between Gabe and Mirah, very aware of Mirah’s skepticism.
“Mirah, I know you’re strong. But you have something that a lot of beings have been after since it was stolen from Heaven. Some one very powerful, a demon, is after it. He won’t hesitate if he has to kill you, and he may kill you anyway just for fun. That’s why I reacted so…uh, strongly when Donovan came. I didn’t think I could trust him.” She hesitated a moment, glancing over at Gabe, and decided not to mention that she still didn’t trust him. She knew whose scent she’d smelled on Donovan, and until she could safely confront him in private about it, she would say nothing.
Mirah grasped the amulet that hung from her neck and seemed to be very preoccupied with looking at the floor. After a moment, she spoke. "That’s strange.. I thought nobody new where this thing was anymore. Guess they must have found it somehow." She tried not to let on, but the news made her very uneasy. She knew how important the item was and if the demons got a hold of it.. Things would just get really nasty, to say the least. "A demon, huh? Do you know his name?" She finally took her eyes away from the floor to look at Ariella. Her face was very serious and unemotional. "Or if he has one, at that," she added.
"He's...sort of borrowing one from Anubis," Ariella's eyes narrowed with hatred. "I'm not even sure how he managed to get sent back here after what happened the first time. He could have come on his own, without orders, or he could be working for Anubis. But since he's using Anubis' name I doubt that Anubis sent him. He's very protective of his name." She leaned back against the couch and put a hand over her eyes. She was still very tired and doubted she'd be strong enough to fight for a few days.
"So, a rebel demon." She felt slightly better. At least he didn't have the whole demon race backing him up. "Then how's he so powerful anyway? I thought only the powerful demons got names and technically, he doesn't even have one.. right?" She was trying to get as much info as she could about this Anubis.
"Well..." Ariella cleared her throat. She was worried that Mirah might question the source of her knowledge. "The rebel demon is a very old one. He's one of the higher demons, but he isn't as powerful as the real Anubis."
Mirah shrugged. "Okay." The answer was acceptable and Mirah decided not to ask her anymore question at that time. Ariella look pretty tired, weak even. "I think it’s about time we got some sleep." She smiled at Ariella. Although she still had mixed feelings about the whole situation, Ariella seemed really nice.. Mirah felt like she could trust her. "I have a guest bedroom you can take." She pointed down the hall, then turned to Gabe. "Guess you get the couch." She grinned and walked to her own bedroom. "Good night." The door closed behind her.
Ariella closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She felt like a great weight had been taken from her shoulders. Remembering Gabe, she looked over at him.
"Well, I guess we both get to stay," she laughed nervously. Some of the shifters she'd known were so empathic they could sense emotions. She sincerely hoped he hadn't been able to catch her distrust of his friend. "If you do stay, I guess I'll see you in the morning." Ariella was about to leave when a thought struck her. She sat down again next to Gabe. “I…I doubt that she’s still alive, but a long time ago I knew a shifter. We were very close…she named her daughter for me, and she saw in a dream that her great granddaughter would also take a similar name; Ariel. Are any of them still alive?”
____________________
Ariel smiled, "Nova, I have some things I need to prepare. Is it alright if we can finish this another time..?"
“Sure thing,” Nova was confused. What did Ariel mean by being possessed by an angel? It didn’t make any sense, but she could tell that Ariel wanted to be left alone right now. In fact, she felt uneasy about something. She was getting a weird vibe from Ariel, and she knew that it was suddenly very important for her not to be there.
Nova expected the feeling to stop once she got to the place she shared with Gabe, but it just got worse. She considered going back to Ariel’s, but then decided against it. The only person she could think to go see was the Mystic. Without knowing why, she grabbed her bag before leaving. She had some money in it, and some other personal items that she didn’t think she’d need just going to see the Mystic, but it was something reflexive that she did without even thinking about it. Locking the door behind her, she ran to the Mystic’s home.

"Oh." Her attention shifted to him. "Well, sorry, but I can't help you. I don't know where he is either." She shrugged. "We just went out and got some coffee, then he split. He usually comes around here a lot, so if you wanna wait, I'm sure he'll turn up sometime soon." Mirah looked the man over and added, "That doesn't mean you're off the hook for busting into my house, though.. I'm only offering to let you stay here, because you're Donovan's friend." The hard look on her face softened a bit. "Anyway, whats your name? I'm Mirah, just in case you didn't catch that already."
"Yeah, sorry about the whole breaking-in-and-eating-your-food thing. It probally won't happen again." Gabe smiled. "Probally." Gabe laughed a bit, to himself. "Oh.. I'm Gabe."
They shook hands. "Nice to meet you." Now, she was even smiling a bit.
"Guess I'll wait here.. like you suggested." Gabe sat down. As he sat there, Gabe thought about his home. He was always worried about home when he left it, and moreso now that he was with Nova. Gabe worried alot about her because he thought she might be sick. She had been feeling kinda unusual, even in her spirit. "Beh.. I gotta stop with all this worry." He said to himself.
_____________________________
"I see," he said finally, studying him. "Then I suppose you want me to assist you as... a match maker?" A sort of grin; he knew of humour, and whether that would amuse of offend this man didn’t really matter to him.. "Whatever the case, I suppose we shall align for the time being. I am called Anubis." His grin became a secret one as he introduced himself.
"I'm Donovan." Donovan looked around.
"I’m afraid that I don’t have a friendly past with, ah, Mirah, so there’s no sort of way I can help you in regards to direct contact with her...unless you wanted me to kill her." He failed to mention that he was intending to do this anyway. "So what did you have in mind, Donovan?"
"Well, usually I'd kill her myself. However, my body is in a state of changing right now because I'm evolving. As a result, I'm slightly weaker then normal." Donovan walked closer to Anubis. "I think we could kill her easily as a team though. I'm close to her already, so don't worry about that. If we set up a trap, I'll lead her to it, and then.. WHAMO! Once's she dead, we get what we need from her. Simple as that." Donovan smiled. Suddenly, Donovan turned his head. "Someone's comming. Take my card and call me with a response." Donovan handed him a card with his name and number on it and then ran.
He lept towards the energy and slamed right into Demi. "Ack!" Donovan fell back onto the floor. After a sec, he got up and smiled. "Watch where you're standing, I'm jumping here!" He laughed and waved to the girls. "Hello Arliss..and...have I met you before?" Donovan's head was turned to Vix. "I'm sorry if I can't remember."
-Robert "Gotta go to work!"
‘Mirah, I’m here to protect you. And the shifter you’ve got in a choke-hold is looking for the one that you went with earlier—but not to hurt him,’ she added hastily. ‘They’re friends, I think,’
"Hmph.. I don't need your protection, first of all.. and second.. I don't care who he is," she pointed at man who had just escaped her head lock, "he still broke into my house!" Although she was very relieved he wasn't a demon..
Mirah kept getting images in her head of a girl, probably the cat's true form, and sure enough the image in her head stood before her instead of the cat.
“I’m not here to fight you. Derdekea sent me to guard you.” Ariella said, leaving out Cheriour. “You…know who she is, right?”
"..." Derdekea was a name she hadn't heard in a while. Mirah's dad used to talked about her and had only good things to say about her, at that.
"Yeah, actually I do know who she is. My dad said she was really great and all.." She shruged, "never meet her personally, though. Anyway, why would she send you to protect me?"
She was aware of the shape shifter talking to her, but it was as if his voice was only a background noise in the distance. The only thing she caught was, "I need to interrupt for a sec. Could you please tell me where Donovan is? It's very important."
[Gabe's response XD]
They shook hands. "Nice to meet you." Now, she was even smiling a bit. Gabe didn't seem like such a bad guy and she was always kind of a sucker for a pretty boy, anyway.
Mirah sat down on the couch and motioned with her arms for Arellia and Gabe to take a seat as well. She shifted in her seat to face Arellia.
"So.. why don't you tell me whats going on with this whole protection bit?" She scoffed at the idea of herself needing protection.
__________
After a wonderful shower with Arliss and a disgusting cold breakfast, the trio was off to search for there old friend. Vix seemed to be having no trouble at all tracking down Donovan and he and Arliss were following her a few steps behind. Arliss and Vix were arguing about something trivial, while Demi quietly thought to himself. It had been a while since he had seen or heard from D, and he was anxious to see him. He hoped that he was alright and that he wasn't in any trouble, although that was doubtful. He was always involved in something.
Suddenly, Vix stopped walking and Arliss slammed right into her. Demi cracked. Vix informed them that Donovan was with someone strange.
"That either means he’s one of the demons you mentioned yesterday... or a mime..." She paused. "Okay that wasn’t very funny...but what should we do?"
"Hmm, I should have known D had something to do with those demons." He sighed. "I guess we should go check it out, just to see if he's in trouble, you know?"
Demi hoped he wasn't fighting with it. It was broad daylight and a fight between a bunch of unhumans was the last thing anyone needed.
"If they're just talking, we'll wait for the demon to leave and then see whats up with D." He waited for the girls to agree before they continued.
OOC: Ok, finally posted. o.o; I hope that was ok with Demi. I figured they could just get close enough so that Anu and D don't pick them up, ya know?

IC:
He knew he was going in the right direction. Even though he was not fully developed, Anubis' inner 'compass' was pointing him in the general direction that he would find the halfbreed angel. It didn't need to be accurate. Once he was close enough, he could pinpoint her location by scent alone. Sometimes, a churning feeling in his 'mortal' like form accompanied this; being close to a creature almost on the other end of the spectrum caused a sort of built in wave of disgust to run through a demon. Sometimes it worked both ways, and he was simply counting on the fact that he'd sense her before she sensed him, so as not to bring her attention. He wasn't quite ready yet...
Pausing on one of the rooftops, Anubis crouched on a ledge, taking a moment to look over the expanse of the city scape. For perhaps the hundredth time that day, he mused at how completely unattractive earth was. He didn’t like the air, or the neatness of the cities that the humans seemed to find so dirty. He glanced down to the sidewalk below, watching the occasional person wander down it. He was considering jumping down there and slaughtering the lot of them, as to entertain and strengthen himself, when an unexpected voice spoke from behind him.
"Hey... remember me?"
Anubis didn’t turned immediately, due to the fact he was sure his face would reveal his annoyance at having been approached without his knowledge. He was definitely not up to par yet. When he did he did turn around, it was casual and slow, his face holding only amusement for the tricky, unidentified creature that he’d met earlier.
"Listen, I thought about what you said. I bet I can be useful to you and you can be useful to me. I have a proposition for you."
"A proposition...for me," he repeated, hiking up an eyebrow.
Donovan smiled, "I know you're interested in that girl Mirah and you're in luck.. I know everything about her. You help me get what I want and I'll help you get what you want. It's that simple. I'd take it myself, but it's better if you have back up. Wouldn't you agree?"
Anubis regarded him for a moment, looking subtly displeased. The way he spoke was truthful, and if he knew her, then he likely knew about the object he sought -- but what if he was looking for the same thing Anubis was looking for? Did he already know what shape it had taken? Anubis knew that, if he was able to get close enough to the object, it would give off a distinctive and similar feeling that the halfbreed angel -- Mirah, as he was indirectly reminded -- would give off... He was pretty sure this man didn’t pick up on it, being not a demon, but that didn’t make him any more comfortable with the idea.
On the other hand, Anubis wasn’t ready to face Mirah yet. If someone tried to interfere, they would likely over power him in his still developing state. By the time they got the object, however..Anubis was convinced he could deal with this man then, if his suspicions were correct.
[Donovan can give his name however he chooses e_e]
"I’m afraid that I don’t have a friendly past with, ah, Mirah, so there’s no sort of way I can help you in regards to direct contact with her...unless you wanted me to kill her." He failed to mention that he was intending to do this anyway. "So what did you have in mind, Donovan?"
----
Vix had grudgingly refused to reheat the breakfast she’d prepared, seeing as Demitry and Arliss had insisted on taking a shower together -- doing God knows what -- and had not emerged for over a half hour. Vix hadn’t bothered waiting and had eaten her own portion while it was still rather warm.
Once they were all dressed and had all eaten, they set out to find Donovan. Vix found that Donovan was one of the easiest unhumans to find with her pull, as he was entirely of his own species, as it seemed. She had much less to sift through to find him.
"I think those eggs broke my stomach," Arliss groaned, walking in stride with Demitry a step or so behind Vix.
"You could have microwaved it like Demitry did, dummy," Vix snorted.
"But it gets all dry and gross," Arliss said indignantly, and was not granted a retort. "Oh, come off it, Vix," she said and Vix continued to ignore her, pretending to be immersed in her search, so Arliss and Demitry conversed quietly to one another instead.
"H...hey," Vix said after a while, stopping abruptly, as she often did, and Arliss, as usual, plunged straight into her. "Jeez, watch where you’re going... we’re close, but there’s someone else with him. It’s wierd, like the other one doesn’t really belong here. I didn’t send him until just now, and his, ah... ‘signal’... keeps, uhm..waving around." She always tried to keep her descriptions of the pull as simple as possible. "That either means he’s one of the demons you mentioned yesterday... or a mime..." She paused. "Okay that wasn’t very funny...but what should we do?"
OOC: I hope you don't mind all the Demi stuff in here xDD;;; especially the first one o_o

Friday, January 16, 2004 @ 01:14 p.m.OOC: I still dun have my stupid new comp, so I give up. I'm just gonna post while I have time to or something 9_9 I'm not sure what to post for anyone, 'cos I think that Gabe, Mirah and Ari need their time to talk...;P ...and with Vix and Arlie...well, I'll try to figure out something without it turning into a crazy threesome XDDDDDDD Anyway, I thought I'd introduce people to the demon world here, so..here goes @_@
IC:
At the edge of a dark world, there was a gate; perhaps these gates could be called 'the gates of hell', if one would consider this 'hell.' To demons, this place was known only as home, a gloomy sort of place that threw reality askew. To a human eye, or any other sort creature for that matter, it would be an empty wasteland, an abyss of complete black. There would be no known air for the creature to breathe, no ground for the creature to walk; without these things, their mind would tell them that they were blind, they were being strangled, and that they were falling.
To the demons, however, the blackness registered to shapes, colours and landscape, and the 'air' to something reminiscent of smoke. The actual landscape of this demon world could resemble earth, the human world, but it was a darker, more run down version. Skeletal buildings stood together, reaching high into the skies that were darkened by clouds as far as the eye could see; these clouds, at times, would produce this worlds 'snow', which appeared to be ash, only it eventually would 'evaporate' and return to the skies.
There was one strange feature to this picture, even for this world of demons; a vertical bridge that went straight through the clouds. This bridge once connected to heaven, but many years ago, before the time of many demons and many angels, the bridge was broken; it's shattered pieces, defying 'gravity', floated motionless beyond the gates. Several demons gaurded this gate; 'the gates of hell'. Going beyond the gate now led to the one place that separated heaven and 'hell'; the human world, earth.
'Earth' was a place that demons, if given permission, could travel freely to and from, mostly without being noticed, so when the two creatures came through, looking something like black mist, the gaurds gave them little more than a glance. The 'mist' creatures weaved their way down the bridge, through the dead town, and made their way to the tallest building. Inside, there were even stranger beings of all shapes and sizes; most resembled humans, in that stood upright and had arms and legs and a head in the proper order, but their facial features were distinctively gnarled and angular; many had tails and wings and claws and strangely coloured skin. All of them were busy moving about, doing whatever work they were meant to do.
Finally, the two came to a certain room that had two walls, a ceiling and floor, and then the other two walls were the skeletal remains of a wall that looked out over the demon 'city'. In the room itself were some chairs, shelves, cabinets and a desk where a female demon was sitting. She had dark red skin, a long sort of face and bat wings that were too small to be functional. Her eyes were yellow, narrow and long, and her hair was stringy and black. She smiled at the pair whens he saw them, revealing needle like teeth.
"Ah, the Highers," she said, looking at them. "Back so soon? I suppose you'll be returning to The Body then... shame that you didn't put more thought into your plans up there. You weren't fully completed when you approached the stray. Boss warned you to wait, did he not? Well, maybe next time you will remember that...that is, if you are allowed a next time." She chuckled quietly.
The mist floated wordlessly, but gave off an aura of indignation.
The female laughed again, standing, and shuffled through some musty old books on a shelf that she would reach into as if they were bags when she opened them. "Growing physical bodies for the human world is rather painful, isn't it? Well, it works both ways, of course, regrowing your vessels here-- ah, here it is." She removed a key from the book in hand and unlocked a heavy looking door to her right. "Well, continue on...best to get it over with."

OOC: I'll come back to them >.>; ::And then stares blankly at Arlie and Vix...not sure what to make them do.:: TIME LEAP 8D
IC:
Vix woke up the next [insert choice: morning/night] with her head aching and her hand on Arliss's chest. "Dh!!" She found herself laying between Arliss and Demitry. She snatched her hand away immediately and sat up abruptly. This action was greeted with another wave of pain to her head, but she ignored it and took in the sight before her -- Demi and Arliss were sleeping soundly, tangled in covers and still clothed; thankfully, so was she.
She got out of bed and took a quick shower. When she came back out, Demi and Arliss were awake and talking quietly, but they hadn't bothered to get up; in fact, they'd scooted up against each other and were cuddling as they talked. "EWWWWWW," Vix said with an obscene amount of immaturity as she leapt onto the bed next to them.
"Ohmigawd, my head," Arliss groaned, covering her face.
"Well, you two should go clean while make us some breakfast," Vix began, and Arliss glanced at Demi, blushing a little despite herself, "andddd...then we can talk about finding Donovan or something, alright?"
OOC: dhjhjgdg I gotta go now. T-T I just got my new comp, tho' so if I can get it to work, I can sign on tonight and add more or something ;_; I hope the demon realm is okay..I pretty much just pulled it outta my ass as I was typing and it took a few hours too, 'cos I got writers block badly xD

Thursday, January 8, 2004 @ 07:13 a.m.Nova knocked on Ariel’s door and waited for her to answer.
“I am coming, one moment,” Ariel’s called, her voice muffled by the door. Nova heard her coming towards the door, her footsteps stopping just by it. “Who is it?” Ariel asked through the door.
“It’s Nova. I need to ask you something.” Nova heard Ariel unlocking the door (she didn’t like people barging in on her). When the door was open Ariel tossed her head to get a blonde lock out of her face. She regarded Nova calmly with her light blue eyes, her “natural” Nordic features in place.
“Come in.” Ariel left the door open, with Nova standing outside. Nova followed her inside and locked the door. “Thank you, dear.” Ariel said when she heard the lock click behind her.
“I was wondering if you could tell me—”
“You want to know if you’re going to have a baby.” Ariel interrupted, motioning towards a chair. “Sit down. I haven’t seen you in over a week, and now this mess about the world ending.” Nova sat obediently, accepting Ariel’s odd manner.
“Yes, it is a bit upsetting. I’m sorry I haven’t been to see you. I’ve had a lot to do lately.” Nova wrinkled her nose, remembering all the difficult training.
“It must be especially hard for you now; having Gabe away at a time like this will be very stressful. We’ll have a lot of planning to do.” Ariel gave Nova a conspiratorial smile. It took some of the proud look from Ariel’s face, with its high cheekbones and aquiline nose. On sight, Nova had thought Ariel would be cold, but once they’d started talking, she’d come to depend on Ariel, as some one she could come talk to when things got really hard and Gabe was busy.
“So, I’m…?” Nova was a little afraid to finish the sentence, so she let it hang. Ariel’s smile widened. Nova sat back, unaware that she’d been leaning forward. And then Ariel had one arm around her shoulders and a hand on her stomach, and briefly pressed her cheek against Nova’s.
“Do you have any names picked out yet?” Ariel asked. Nova shook her head and laughed, very much aware of how much relief there was in her own voice.
“Ariel, will you do me a favor?” Nova asked, worry showing on her face. She searched Ariel’s eyes as her friend nodded. “Don’t tell anyone. Not yet, anyway.” Ariel pursed her lips.
“Some of them will know just from your presence, like I did.” Ariel warned.
“You trained them all too well, then.” Nova smiled wryly. Ariel gave her shoulder a squeeze.
“Just doing my job…besides, you’ll have to tell your other teachers.” Ariel sat in a chair across from Nova’s, sitting up very straight. “You can’t just stop showing up for your lessons, and they’ll get suspicious if you keep telling them you’re sick.”
“I know, but…I just have a feeling that certain people shouldn’t know just yet.” Nova bit her lip and curled up in the thickly padded chair. Ariel raised her eyebrows.
“Is there anyone in particular that shouldn’t know?” Amazingly, she seemed to sit up even straighter, a feat that Nova hadn’t thought possible.
“No, but I have this feeling…” Nova didn’t know how to continue, but saw that Ariel was nodding. Suddenly Ariel stood up and disappeared down the hallway that went to the kitchen. Nova heard clattering, and what sounded like metal being tapped against glass. She wondered briefly what Ariel was doing when Ariel came back with two decidedly un-mysterious mugs of cocoa.
“When did the feelings start?” Ariel handed a mug to Nova and sat back down. Nova held the hot mug in her hands, letting it warm her fingers. She suddenly felt very cold.
“I’m not sure. It’s a recent development, though.” Nova was silent for a moment, unaware that she was resting a hand low down on her stomach. “But I’ve never had any prescient tendencies, so I’ve tried to ignore them. I just know that things aren’t as…safe…as they used to be.” She glanced at Ariel, and saw that she was “zoning”. Nova had never been prescient, but Arial had. Again, Nova waited.
Ariel’s chin was resting on her chest, and her hair had fallen into her face. Nova saw that her cocoa was in danger of spilling and was about to take the cup from Ariel when all of the sudden she inhaled sharply, and stared up at Nova with wide, blank eyes, her irises solid disks of faintly glowing blue. But it wasn’t the light blue of Ariel’s eyes. They were incredibly clear and dark. It was like looking into the sky, and having it look right back.
“The Mother must be careful. Her children are in danger, but she must only stand by and let them fend for themselves, else they will never learn. If you misplace your trust, little mother, you will have to watch your own children fight for their lives before their time.” Ariel seemed about to elaborate, but the mug tipped over, spilling the steaming contents onto her hands and lap. Her eyes widened for a moment and she let out a startled gasp. Then she blinked, and stared down at her hands with light blue eyes that didn’t seem to glow from deep within. She furrowed her brows, staring at her hands but not really seeing them.
“Ariel…?” Nova looked at her friend with concern. Ariel didn’t seem to notice that her hands were red where the cocoa had spilled on them, or that it was all over her lap and the chair.
“Have you ever heard of some one being possessed by an angel?” Ariel asked. Nova stared at her. This was one of the last things she would have expected Ariel to say.
“You…you’re lap is full of cocoa…” Nova faltered. Ariel had an odd little smile on her face as she got up to get a towel.
_______________________________________________
He seemed surprised by Ariella’s real form, which amused her. He leapt from the couch and shifted, becoming a well-dressed man with long hair. When she shifted to human form, he’d be at least ten years older than her. Well, as long as he stayed in that form, anyway. For all she knew, he was a hundred years old. She’d known shape-shifters to live even longer than that, if they weren’t killed in clan fights.
"Sorry, cat form was getting kinda boring..and I figured: you showed me yours, so I'd show you mine... true form that is." He said, laughing softly. Ariella blinked slowly, sitting upright and curling her tail around her paws.
‘Much obliged, I’m sure.’ She purred.
"You look familiar... I think I learned about you while I was in training. Fallen angel, right? If not.. no offense." he said. Ariella was shocked for a moment, thinking he meant her, personally. No one could possibly remember what had happened. Most, (if not all) of the earthly records of that time period had been destroyed when Egypt was taken over by Rome.
‘None taken. I guess you could say I fell…but I’m trying to remedy the situation. That’s why I’m a cat right now.’ she sent him an image of her smiling sardonically.
"I only heard a little, as I said, and I never really took it to heart. Anyways, back to the topic at hand...the reason I'm here." Ariella waited while he thought for a moment, twitching the tip of her tail. "Have you seen a vampire-like creature, actually he's more like an alien-god thing or something similar, that may or may not be the cause of a future-but-soon event that might be of the world ending-type?" He asked. Ariella’s mind lurched, realizing that he might be talking about the creature she had attacked earlier, but before she could respond, he’d taken a deep breath and continued. "If you have seen him, I really REALLY need to know before anything bad happens." He sat down on the couch.
‘I may have…encountered him.’ Ariella hesitated to tell him that she’d probably attacked the being he was looking for.
"You see... as you can tell, I'm a shape-shifter. I come from a clan of shape-shifters and seers. We are supposed to help fate run its course, or rather, prevent it from running a bad course.” So, the old clan had survived. She smiled inwardly. “The thing I'm looking for goes by the name Donovan."
Ariella flinched slightly when he sent her a mental image of this “Donovan” creature. He was definitely the one she’s attacked. Once again, he’d gone on before she could respond. But then, she was hesitant to do so anyway, since he seemed to care for Donovan, and she’d attacked him pretty viciously.
"He seems to be involved in some kinda event in the near future.. a potentially bad event. I wasn't given all the details because we normally scan the seer’s vision before we take action. Donovan is harder to find, so they sent me out first, then they say they'll supply me with additional information and back-up as deemed needed." He shrugged. "Sorry... that was kinda too much info.. but it just pisses me off, the way they shoved me out here.. I don't even know what's happening back home." She sensed that he was anxious about the way things were where he lived.
‘That’s alright, it certainly clears things up for me…as a matter of fact, I did see Donovan.’ she sent him an image of herself, but smiling apologetically. ‘I…didn’t know what he was or trust him when I first met him, and…well, he certainly heals fast.’ At first Ariella was relieved when the blinding light that held Mirah’s presence suddenly popped into the room because it spared her the process of explaining herself, but then she saw the blur of quick movement that was Mirah’s fist connecting with her new acquaintance’s chin, she leapt up, arching her back and fluffing herself up, eyes wide. It was an involuntary feline reaction she couldn’t always control completely.
There was a moment of scuffling, and then the Nephilim had the shape-shifter in a headlock that would have made a Greek wrestler proud. And then Mirah’s attention was on Ariella. She managed to settle herself enough so that her fur was no longer on end, but her eyes remained wide, the pupils large, whiskers fanned out.
“Mrrr…” (Uhhh…) Ariella said, trying to sound as innocent as a cat can.
“You..?” Mirah seemed to eye the white crescents on Ariella’s shoulders a moment, perhaps trying to clear her mind of confusion.
“Mrrraow eaiio maow…” (Well, you see…) Ariella continued to meow, forgetting that Mirah couldn’t understand her.
"Well, obviously you aren't a cat, so why don't you or your partner here explain whats going on." Mirah struggled with the shifter. Ariella was about to meow again when she realized the problem and started talking telepathically.
‘Mirah, I’m here to protect you. And the shifter you’ve got in a choke-hold is looking for the one that you went with earlier—but not to hurt him,’ she added hastily. ‘They’re friends, I think,’ Ariella had been gradually sending a visual of herself to Mirah as she shifted, so it would form slowly in Mirah’s mind. That way, when she realized that Ariella wasn’t a cat anymore, it might reduce the shock…and hopefully, it wouldn’t illicit an attack.
“I’m not here to fight you. Derdekea sent me to guard you.” Ariella said, leaving out Cheriour. “You…know who she is, right?” she asked hopefully. This was going to be hard to explain.
OOC: Okay, well, that one’s a bit longer. It took me half the night to coax it out of my head >_o Mayhap I shouldn’t have written the poems first, but oh well. At least I got something halfway to being decent e.e;;;

Tuesday, January 6, 2004 @ 05:42 p.m.Mirah left the café, throwing away half of her drink. It wasn't as good as she thought, or she had just lost her taste for it at the moment. That was probably it. When she stepped outside, it was still dark and the snow was still falling. She began to walk home alone, not thinking much about what Donovan had said. It wasn't true, she was sure of that much. Feelings were easier for her to sense in people, especially love, and she knew that he had none for her. Maybe he was just going through something and he.. needed someone. She shrugged it off, remembering that she didn't want to think about it.
Mirah arrived at her apartment to hear a male voice inside. 'Great, now some demons have tracked me down. Must not have any tact though, since they gave themselves away by talking to each other..' She laughed silently to herself. She then let her mind go blank, hoping they hadn't noticed her presence yet. If she cleared her mind, it would be harder for them to feel her presence.
Now she would use a skill that she had only recently developed and would only be able to use for a few seconds. They would obviously hear her if she tried to unlock the door and come in.. Mirah changed herself into a state of light and slid through the crack at the bottom of the door. The light itself would attract attention, but by the time they realized what was going on, it wouldn't matter and she would have the upper hand.. or so she hoped.
The nicely dressed demon was just turning around to see a blinding light changing into the form of a human girl, who punched him harshly in the side of the face, knocking him off the couch. They both fell to the ground in a scuffle, but as Mirah had hoped, she surprised him and was able to place him in a tight headlock. She noticed that he was not only nicely dressed, but nice looking, too. His hair was silky and long and his face was clean and attractive. Good looks, though, were not uncommon for a demon or any other unhuman for that matter. She had also noticed that there was nobody else there. Was this guy talking to himself..? Mirah then gazed upon the cat.
"You..?" She had never suspected that the cat could be in disguise, but then it made sense. The ultra fast healing and hatred toward Donovan.. the wing shaped pattern on it's back..? She was very confused. So maybe it wasn't a demon, but it seemed to have allied itself with one.
"Well, obviously you aren't a cat, so why don't you or your partner here explain whats going on."
Mirah was having a hard time keeping the suited demon restrained. She was very strong, but so was he and it was only a matter of time before the situation got drastically worse. If the two of them tried to attack her together, she wasn't sure what she would do.
OOC: Whew, that was tricky. I wasn't sure what to do with Mirah, so I figured this might be fun. It gave me a chance to demonstrate what kind of powers she has. She is still young, so she hasn't mastered a lot of stuff, but I wanted her specialties to include some kind of holy light power and healing of course. Maybe I can talk to Kchan about it later, and she can help me develop it since she seems to be good with that sort of thing. Anyway, I'll RP Demi as soon as Hchan posts.. T.T
Monday, January 5, 2004 @ 11:50 p.m.
“Maiiooww praowr?” (Where did you come from?) Ariella shifted so they were facing each other. She leaned towards him—reluctantly—as far as she could without actually taking a step closer to this obvious cat imposter, so they could sniff noses.
Gabe continued to cat-talk, "Meoow, mrroowww. Meow meoww mmeow." (Well, I guess you seem friendly enough. I come from England.) He nodded. Gabe started to look her over, then remembered she couldn't really hid any weapons in that cat form.
“Mrrrrow?” she chirped (Who are you?) and sent him a mental image of herself in human form, but with large, white wings. She figured he could tell what she was from her aura as she could with him, so she decided to be candid from the start.
The sudden flash of her true image shocked him. Gabe jumped off of the couch and shifted to his normal form. As the light mist began to vanish, he once again stood in human form. His hair pulled back and his dark form fitting cloths shifted into a nice suit. Dark Blue Coat, Pants were matching, a white undershirt, and some black dress shoes. Yeah, Gabe tried to dress classy whenever he got the chance. "Sorry, cat form was getting kinda boring..and I figured: you showed me yours, so I'd show you mine... true form that is." Gabe quietly laughed to himself, his lame jokes only seemed to amuse himself.
"You look familiar... I think I learned about you while I was in training. Fallen angel, right? If not.. no offense." Gabe wasn't sure what to make of her. While he was in trainning, they shortly discussed fallen and outcast angels. It was only gone over shortly, due to the fact that not many people out side of heaven know what's going on inside of it, or for what reasons.
Gabe gave her a chance to respond.
"I only heard a little, as I said, and I never really took it to heart. Anyways, back to the topic at hand...the reason I'm here." Gabe thought for a second, thought how he could possibly put what needed to be said into words. "Have you seen a vampire-like creature, actually he's more like an alien-god thing or something similar, that may or may not be the cause of a future-but-soon event that might be of the world ending-type?" He gasped for air after quickly saying all of that, then smiled. "If you have seen him, I really REALLY need to know before anything bad happens." Gabe sat down next to her and continued, "You see... as you can tell, I'm a shape-shifter. I come from a clan of shape-shifters and seers. We are supposed to help fate run its course, or rather, prevent it from running a bad course. The thing I'm looking for goes by the name Donovan." Gabe projected a mental image of Donovan to her, then continued. "He seems to be involved in some kinda event in the near future.. a potentially bad event. I wasn't given all the details because we normally scan the seer's vision before we take action. Donovan is harder to find, so they sent me out first, then they say they'll supply me with additional information and back-up as deemed needed." He shrugged. "Sorry... that was kinda too much info.. but it just pisses me off, the way they shoved me out here.. I don't even know what's happening back home." Gabe thought about alot of things. For some reason, the camp was pretty uneasy recently.
OOC: Ehh... tired. I'll add more whenever Luna RP's as Mirah.. or something. Also, Ariel doesn't have much character built up.. so do what you want with her kchan. All I've written is that she's a healer mostly..and that she likes to do her work alone. On a side note, she prefers Gabe to Raziel, and that means she likes Nova too. n.n
“OOF!” Ariella stared around wildly, claws digging into the couch. Her hind legs were raised, ready to run, and her ears were swiveled to the sides, giving her a comical, bewildered look.
“Wake up sleepy head!” A purple tabby stared at her from the other side of the couch.
Wait a minute. Purple? And talking to her? Because cats mostly communicate with body language and vague verbal cues, it was easy to tell the ones that weren’t “real” cats, so the fact that this creature was sending thoughts to her was a dead give away. But the purple fur was just…too much. This guy was either a friend, or an idiot.
‘Or, he could be both,’ Ariella thought as she stared back at him, standing up the rest of the way but keeping her flank to him—an ambiguous posture that could be altered to mean different things by changing her stance slightly. She kept it on the defensive side just to be safe, but he faced her full on, ready to sniff noses and play. He didn’t look stupid, so he must be a friend. But how did he get in?
“Maiiooww praowr?” (Where did you come from?) Ariella shifted so they were facing each other. She leaned towards him—reluctantly—as far as she could without actually taking a step closer to this obvious cat imposter, so they could sniff noses.
His aura was brilliant and strong, but it shifted and billowed slightly around him, and that could only mean that he was a shape shifter. In all honesty, it had literally been ages since she’d encountered any species that didn’t inhabit the Outside, let alone had one land on her. But, when she wasn’t with angels, shape shifters were the beings she felt closest to, and it was a relief to meet one after so long.
“Mrrrrow?” she chirped (Who are you?) and sent him a mental image of herself in human form, but with large, white wings. She figured he could tell what she was from her aura as she could with him, so she decided to be candid from the start.
OOC: I was gonna do something with Nova, but it is very late, and I don't know anything about Ariel..and Rob isn't online for me to ask...so this will have to do. Sorry it's so short :/

Donovan was listening to her reactions.
She laughed again. "Out with it already." She nudged him, trying to encourage him.
'Shit... better say something now...' He thought. "Alright... I guess I'll tell you.."
He paused for a second. 'Think brain, THINK!' His eyes closed for a second, "I..." His eyes slowly opened, as if he just found inner peace. "I... love you." Donovan kinda froze after that. 'Fhqwhgads! Why'd I say that? Feelings...out in open...better say...something..' He looked around. "Well... I said it.. soo.... yeah.. I love you." He sighed. Donovan ran his hands through his hair as he looked down and shook his head. "I guess it was pretty dumb to say... sorry. Umm.. I'm gonna take off now...emotions out in open.." His eyes shifted from side to side, then he ran out of the coffee shop.

Gabe traveled at the last place Donovan was detected. Usually, the clan would teleport next to the person's aura... which would be exactly where the person was standing. Donovan was different, thanks to a skill he developed that allowed him to hide his aura and smell, he was harder to trace. They used alot of energy to find him, so much that one of the clan members passed out due to exaustion.
-At Mirah's place-
A light smoke filled the living room, at the core.. the smoke began to take form. the smoke bagan rushing to the center and funneling up towards the roof. It almost looked like a small twister.. then it suddenly vanished and a man stood in the center.
"Gabe is in da hizzy!" He looked around the room. "Oh... nobody here. Damnit.. wasted a pretty cool entrance." He sighed, then stared looking around. "Eh... might as well wait here, someone'll come back sooner or later." He rummaged around the place, and found some mail.... which he began to read. "Hey...Mirah... I think I remember... she was that angel chick.." He smiled. "Weird.. he's actually still in touch with an old friend." After that, he tossed his coat to the side and went to the kitchen. He looked in the fridge, trying to find a light snack. "All that traveling, gives me the munchies. Let's see what angel girly has here." He made himself a sandwich and got a glass of milk. "Mmmmm... peanutbutter and marshmallow cream, the best snack in the world." Finally, after eating, he headed towards the couch to sit and wait.
"Whoa... almost sat on that ca-" Gabe looked at it harder. "Better not wake it...whatever it is." He whispered. Gabe noticed the markings and it's strong aura. "I think I'll rest with you.... or maybe I'll have a little fun." He started to laugh. He shifted into a skinny purple cat, with black tiger stripes. Slowly, Gabe-cat walked in a circle for a second, then he clawed at the couch's end. "Meooww!"(Translation: "Here I come!" He said, then he playfully pounced the sleeping cat. He backed up and said, "Meow meow meow meoooooow." (Translation: "Wake up sleepy head!")
OOC: Eh... hope that's ok for now. Maybe Anu can break in or something. -Robert
"Yum, Starbucks." Mirah rushed inside the store to get out of the snow flurry that had just started outside. She was hardly aware of all the looks that she and Donovan were getting. Stares weren't uncommon for her and she was used to them.
"I'm tired of these cloths, I gotta get out of them." He paused after saying that. "Uhhh... I didn't mean it like that. I just ment.." He gave up. "Sorry."
She had to go over what he'd just said for a moment to really, 'get it.' Sometimes she was a bit slow on the uptake, but once she got it she just cracked up, causing everyone in the store to look at them, once again.
"Just forget it," she reassured him.
Mirah ordered her favorite, a chocolate browny, and sat down with Donovan.
"Mirah... there's something I wanna ask you," "Umhmm?" She looked up at him, noticing that he looked very uneasy.
"I...just don't know how you'll respond... so I'm kinda scared to ask." He drank more, very quickly. He put his hand over his face... "Ahh.. nevermind. I'm sorry... it's a dumb question anyways."
She laughed again. "Out with it already." She nudged him, trying to encourage him. At this point she was really curious about what he had to say.

OOC: Arliss, Vix, and Demi are kind of sounding like an episode of Slayers to me.. all like "Yeah! Another adventure!" or something, you know? XDD
IC:
"Being around you guys all the time is great. I'm really loving all the crazy threesome action."
Demi was only a little tipsy, but the girls were pretty far gone. He loved messing with them while they were like that. It was always very entertaining. His last comment caused a few pillows to fly in his direction, although there aim was horrible at the time. He just laughed.
"Alright.. so maybe it's just crazy action with Arliss, but Vix is welcome to join us anytime she wants, right Arlie?"
The three of them often joked about things of the sexual nature.. almost always involving themselves, at that. A while back, Vix and Arliss had finally gotten over there differences and ever since, the group was practically inseparable. Demi still had his pack in California, but he and his brother decided to share the leadership responsibilities, since Demi liked to venture off so much.
Demi didn't really know what was ahead for the three of them, but he hoped it would be fun. Besides, they would be meeting up with Donovan soon. Demi looked forward to that. He hadn't seen his friend in quite some time.
Now he found himself looking up at Arliss who was sitting on the bed with Vix. Demi was sitting indian style on the floor below them. Arliss was playfully arguing about something trivial with Vix when she noticed that Demi was just staring at her longingly. That could either mean he wanted something.. or he was just thinking about how much he loved her. Before she could try to figure out which one it was, Demi threw a pillow at her, hitting her in the face with it. He laughed hysterically. Maybe some of that vodka was starting to take effect.
OOC: Blah, sorry that was so crappy, but I'm pretty tired.. I hope Hchan doesn't mind me using Vix and Arlie a little bit. n.n; I can change it later if it's too much.
Monday, December 15, 2003 @ 10:11 p.m.Nova sat at the table, eating a bowl of left-over curry. She’d developed her cooking skills living with Gabe, and even a day old, the curry was still good. She glanced up at him as he read the letter he’d gotten, got up her nerve to tell him, and then watched his face fall from its usual expression to a disgruntled sort of resignation.
“Ahhh shit,” he said.
“What is it, love?” she asked, taking a sip of her water and giving him a curious look. As far as she knew, the incident from this morning, the student’s dream, had been taken care of.
“I got a mission.” He explained, a sad look on his face. This confused Nova further, mostly because she’d only come back from exercises about half an hour ago, and it was both physically and mentally taxing, more than usual because of her nervous irresolution about telling him. But it was also because teachers didn‘t usually go on missions. It had to be serious if they were sending him, and this was a rather inopportune time for the rules to be bent.
“When do you have to leave?” She got up and carried her dishes to the sink, not looking at him so he wouldn’t see her disappointment. Nova finished her water and rinsed her dishes.
“I got to go… A.S.A.P.” he answered. “You remember that kid last night, right?”
“You mean the one who had the dream?” She came back to the table.
“Well.. He had some kind of vision, a bad one. Anyway, Donovan is somehow involved.”
“You’re sure it was about Donovan? Does the kid know him?” Nova leaned against the table, the implications of the situation finally cutting through her inner turmoil.
“Ariel got an image of him from the kid‘s echo.” Gabe explained. Nova was pretty sure she remembered what an echo was; something like a reverberation of the images the dreamer had seen in their dream. “Well, an echo is kinda like a nightmare that you keep having…except it’s a vision. Ahh. Yanno? Anyways, it’s something like that.” He got up to back his things as he explained, and Nova washed her dishes.
When he found her to say goodbye, she was in the small living room, reading over the note she’d written. Folding it quickly, she stood to be hugged and kissed. She dropped the note into his pocket in a deft movement that he’d taught her himself. She gave him the brightest smile she could muster. Even after all of this time, she was still unused to being around so many others like herself after a life time of thinking that she might be the only one, and it would be even harder without him…especially if she was right about this.
Stepping away so he could teleport safely, she wondered if she’d done the right thing, telling him in a note instead of in person. Still, by the time he found the note in that many-pocketed coat of his, he might be home. She hoped he’d be home by then. She didn’t think she wanted to be away from him for too long like this, but it wouldn’t be safe for her to teleport.
“I could always take a plane…” she said aloud to the empty room. “I mean, I have until the third trimester before it isn’t safe to fly, either. That gives me six months.” She put a hand on her stomach, not even sure, and here she was worrying about a baby that might not exist. She hadn’t been sick at all yet, but she’d heard that it didn’t always happen.
Nova sat down to think. Nothing was certain any more. Everything had changed since she’d found the werewolves, and had found Gabe through them. It was good to be with other shifters. But as she felt the emptiness of the house around her start to grow, she decided that if it took him too long, she’d have to join him. And she’d have to let some one else know about the baby, probably Ariel. She might be able to tell Nova if it was a sure thing…
As she walked to Ariel’s, she went over the note in her head:
“Some one told me once that nothing is certain. Well, right now they’re right. I’m not sure, but there might be another member in the clan a few weeks shy of nine months from now, love.
—Butterfly”
OOC: After much deliberation, this post…was way too long in coming. But I did get around to it. ::relief:: See how much I like this rp? I’m working on my post, and then actually posting it (instead of tweaking it and changing things around until the end of the world) when I’m sick. ::keels over and dies. From the flu. Or whatever it is that she has e.e:: That note sucks Hchan’s luck. But it’s all I could come up with right now. ::tumps over from extreme wambliness::
